Peking to Paris 2010 - Bruce & Ben's Intrepid Journey

Images

A once in a lifetime father-son adventure, that will never be forgotten. We are taking part in the 4th Peking-to-Paris event, that retraces the steps of 11 pioneering automobile adventurers in 1907. We are also taking the event as an opportunity to raise awareness and finance towards Parkinsons disease.

We will be starting in Peking (China) on September 10th, 2010 and driving over 14,000 kms over rough terrain for 37 days to reach Paris (France). We are travelling in Black panther a 1929 Chrysler Roadster which has been restored specifically for the event.

New Zealanders, Bruce and Ben Washington are preparing for the 2010 event. Bruce is a busy businessman with Barber drilling who travels frequently in Australasia, and Ben (son) is an accountant who is based in Christchurch.

Bruce's father is a sufferer of Parkinson's disease, and two of Ben's grandparents have been affected by the disease. We thought that it would be a great idea to raise awareness on this trip. Many families have had their lives affected by Parkinsons. We are passionate to seeing further research and development into this disease.

I have just been reading about your planned car trip and I think it is wonderful that you are taking part in this historic trip and raising awareness and funds for Parkinsons at the same time! Thank you very much for getting in touch with us. Nuala parkinsons.org.nz
